Summary: First of all lets get the Tiger from under the table. An early start for Tiger watching but didn't see any but the scenery from within the park was amazing. We looked for a branded hotel in the Ranthambore area but struggled.
Until I came across this boutique hotel with the lovely name The Kipling Lodge and after reading the reviews we decided to book for 2 nights. My wife and I were not disappointed. From initial contact to book the safari to being collected from Neemrana went smoothly thanks to the hotel manager Dilip. We were made to feel welcome on arrival and the imposing Mr Singh on guard duty would make my rugby team. Any day.
The room we booked was called Horse. Spacious, clean and warm and internet worked. The shower was wonderful and there was even an out door shower within the room complex. The food was very nice and plentiful to the point I had to stay please stop. A chilled Kingfisher beer helped and a warming chai masala post safari was a welcome thing.
On the second night there was local entertainment which was fun.
Some other points to note: there is a book library within the hotel which my wife found useful. There are some beautiful gardens to admire and sit in and you may see the odd local monkey pass by your balcony window.
On departure the hotel team organised our onward journey to Jaipur by car. I would recommend this hotel for the warmth and quality it displayed to us as seasonal travellers. A jewel in tiger territory.
