LAKE AND WATERFRONT ASSUMPTION OF RISK
The property is located directly on a lake and includes access to a pier and other waterfront areas. Guests acknowledge that lakes, piers, shorelines and water activities involve inherent risks, including drowning, slipping, falling, changing water depths, waves, weather conditions, submerged objects and other natural or man-made hazards. Guests voluntarily assume the risks associated with their use of these areas.
SWIMMING AND DIVING
Swimming is at the guest's own risk. No lifeguard is provided. Water depth and lake conditions may change without notice. Diving or jumping from the pier, decks, shoreline or other structures is prohibited. Guests should never assume that water is sufficiently deep or free of underwater hazards.
PIER USE
Guests using the pier must exercise reasonable care. Pier surfaces may become wet, slippery or unstable due to rain, waves, frost or other conditions. Running, horseplay and diving from the pier are prohibited. Guests should not use the pier during storms, high winds or other hazardous conditions.
KAYAKS AND PADDLEBOARDS
Kayaks and paddleboards are recreational amenities provided for optional guest use. Guests use this equipment at their own risk and are responsible for determining whether they have the physical ability, swimming ability and experience necessary to safely operate the equipment.
PERSONAL FLOTATION DEVICES
A properly fitted U.S. Coast Guard-approved personal flotation device must be worn at all times while using a kayak, paddleboard or other watercraft provided with the property. Guests are responsible for ensuring that the flotation device fits properly before entering the water.
CHILDREN AND MINORS
Children and minors must be directly supervised by a responsible adult whenever they are near the lake, shoreline, pier, decks or watercraft. Children may not use kayaks, paddleboards or other water equipment without appropriate adult supervision.
ALCOHOL AND WATER ACTIVITIES
Guests may not operate kayaks, paddleboards or other watercraft while impaired by alcohol, cannabis, medications or any other substance that may affect judgment, balance or coordination.
WEATHER AND LAKE CONDITIONS
Guests are responsible for monitoring weather and lake conditions before entering the water. Water activities should immediately cease during thunderstorms, lightning, high winds, heavy rain, poor visibility or other potentially dangerous conditions.
NO GUARANTEE OF WATER CONDITIONS
The Owner makes no representation regarding water depth, water quality, lake-bottom conditions, aquatic vegetation, wildlife, submerged objects or other naturally changing conditions of the lake. Guests should exercise appropriate caution at all times.
GUESTS AND INVITEES
The booking Guest is responsible for communicating these safety requirements to all members of the Guest's party and any permitted visitors. The booking Guest is responsible for the conduct of persons permitted onto the property by the Guest.
DAMAGE TO WATERCRAFT, PIER OR PROPERTY
Guests are responsible, to the extent permitted by law and the applicable booking-platform terms, for damage caused by the Guest or the Guest's invitees through misuse, negligence or violation of these rules. Damage or loss involving the pier, kayaks, paddleboards, flotation devices or other property must be reported to the Owner promptly.
REPORTING UNSAFE CONDITIONS AND ACCIDENTS
Guests must promptly notify the Owner of any damaged equipment, loose boards, damaged railings, defective flotation devices or other potentially unsafe conditions. Guests should discontinue use of any affected area or equipment until the condition has been addressed. Any accident, injury or water-rescue incident occurring at the property should also be reported promptly.
OPTIONAL USE OF RECREATIONAL AMENITIES
Use of the lake, pier, kayaks, paddleboards and other recreational amenities is entirely optional and is not required as part of the Guest's lodging stay. Guests who are uncomfortable with the risks associated with these activities should not participate.
LIMITED RELEASE AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK
To the fullest extent permitted by Wisconsin law, Guests voluntarily assume the inherent risks associated with their recreational use of the lake, pier, kayaks, paddleboards and other specifically identified waterfront amenities. Any release of claims is intended to apply only to the extent permitted by Wisconsin law and is not intended to waive liability that cannot legally be waived, including liability for intentional, reckless or other legally non-waivable conduct.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT
By agreeing to this Water Safety Addendum, the Guest acknowledges that the Guest has read and understands the specific risks and safety requirements described above and agrees to comply with them during the stay.
