Positive: The staff were wonderful, the chef was so kind, remembering everyone's name and provide us delicious gluten free options. The guide was also very helpful, always tries his best to give us the best experience.

Negative: No hot water the first day, had to shower in cold water. Turned out the staff did not turn on the electricity switch for the hot water system. It took entire night to get the hot water after turning on the switch. There is also a bad odor from the water pipe. The closest airport is also terrible, but this is not the lodge's problem. Air Borneo MY3019 was canceled, and we missed our next day's connecting flight and hotel in Kota Kinabalu. Air Borneo put us in a very very basic hotel, not exactly clean (for example, found hair in towels). Suggest Borneo Rainforest Lodge to offer an earlier shuttle bus in future to catch MY 3017 earlier flight. This will provide the option of taking a later flight if the earlier one is canceled.

Summary: Beautiful location with very helpful staff, but bad airport/airline & don't expect modern 5 stars.
